Southeastern Piano Festival Lunchtime Concert – FREE

June 3, 2023 @ 4:00 am - 1:00 pm

Take a break on your lunch hour and join us in the historic setting of the National Republic Ballroom at 1208 Washington Street in downtown Columbia for a FREE informal lunchtime concert featuring some of the very gifted young pianists participating in the Southeastern Piano Festival.
Bring your own lunch or pick up something to go from one of the many establishments within a couple of blocks of the venue, and feel free to enjoy your lunch while you listen. The Ballroom, the centerpiece of a gorgeously restored 1924 former bank building, is the setting for this concert that will showcase these young artists’ pianistic virtuosity in works ranging from Bach to Beethoven to Chopin and more.
The SEPF participants performing range in age from 14 to 18 and hail from many corners of the globe, from as close by as Charleston and as far away as Taiwan.
Come and go as you please, stay for some or all of the 90-minute program as you wish. You’ll be treated to some of the most sublime piano music ever written, performed by supremely gifted young artists, all in the air-conditioned comfort of this beautiful setting, one of the most remarkable spaces in the city of Columbia.
The National Republic Ballroom at 1208 Washington Street is located on the south side of Washington Street between Main and Sumter.
