In memory of the Krewe’s dear friend and festival founder Tom Hall — a locally renowned attorney and arts advocate — the theme of Mardi Gras Columbia 2024 is “The King Lives On.”

Free kickoff parade throughout the Rosewood District, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Free to the public to participate or view; parade lineup begins 10 a.m. along Jim Hamilton Blvd.
$10 festival entry (free for kids 12 and under)

“We have named the Back Porch Stage the Tom Hall Stage,” says Paul Hinson, Krewe de Columbia-Ya Ya captain, to Free Times/Post & Courier. “The Plowboys will be playing their first set ever without Tom at 2:30. So the Krewe will gather at that stage before their set to remember Tom and raise a toast to him.”
