WXRY’s Varholy and the Class broadcast this Saturday from the North Main Neighborhood.

The annual Light Up NOMA district-wide event, kicks off the holiday season on Saturday December 9th, 3-6PM with merchants opening their doors and offering shopping deals, food tastings, a tree lighting accompanied with live performances by the Eau Claire Marching Band and of course Santa Claus. Back by popular demand we are holding the 4th annual Cookie Crawl to highlight NOMA as the sweet district of downtown Columbia.

This family friendly event will feature more than a dozen shops, restaurants and galleries opening their doors to showcase their holiday treasures before the NOMA tree lighting. Many businesses will offer complimentary beverages, hors d’oeuvres and shopping discounts, and Light Up NOMA attendees are invited to stroll through the NOMA businesses, restaurants and bars on this festive afternoon.

Holiday Entertainment for the whole family! Santa Claus will be at NOMA Bistro and Cromer’s P-Nuts throughout the Light Up NOMA event. Face painting for kids will be at The War Mouth. Curiosity Coffee will be the location of the NOMA Tree Lighting at 6PM along with live entertainment from local schools, featuring the Eau Claire Marching Band, 2327 Main Street. “We’re so excited to show the community what our NOMA businesses have to offer throughout the year and through this holiday season,” says Executive Director, Sabrina Edwards.  After the tree lighting, Light Up NOMA attendees are encouraged to stay on and enjoy the NOMA nightlife with specials in many of the bars and restaurants.

The NOMA Cookie Crawl is only $20 per ticket. If there are any tickets available they will be $30 that day at the event. Please be aware there are only 250 tickets and this event sold out early in its first year in 2019. You must pick up your Cookie Tins at Main Street Bakery between 3-4:30PM but you can continue the crawl at participating locations until 6PM.
